As the new Chair of HDCA, I am excited about the prospect of furthering the promotion of Domiciliary Care Providers throughout Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and I.O.W. and look forward to the challenges. that this will undoubtedly bring during the coming year.
Also, I am delighted that the Executive Committee, which is formed by members who give up their time in order to attend meetings and participate in negotiations and consultations on behalf of our providers, has been joined this year by many new faces and I know that their extensive knowledge and experience can only enhance and further the work of our organisation.
Our work in the coming year will continue to focus on training and will be strengthened by a sub group being formed to lead this work. We are actively seeking to re-establish regular liaison meets with CSCI, these meetings that Dr Bryan Olive established in the early days of Hampshire Inspection were so helpful to us and whilst the culture is very different now we hope that this piece of work could be beneficial to us all.
We are already planning some interesting workshop and seminar days for you and I will look forward to meeting many of you at these events. If there is a specific subject that you think we should cover, then please let us know.
Your organisation is run by members for members and the best way that we can undertake that task is by you telling us what you need and would like to see us doing.
